Art Behind Walls
Children’s Prison Arts Project (CPAP) is a non-profit arts education organization, whose mission is to introduce juvenile offenders to an innovative educational theater and visual art forum where they can express their thoughts and visions in constructive ways. In the last twenty four years, CPAP’s programs have produced many original performances which have served over 28,000 incarcerated youth and their families. Working closely with the client by conducting research, interviews and reviewing materials from the past to present, a book was created presenting a newly designed logo with updates to their existing branding materials. In addition to the new logo design, the work of Children's Prison Arts Project is highlighted, showcasing their mission and the impact they have made on the lives of incarcerated youth. Not only does the book provide a unique biography on how the organization started, but also serves to educate and inform the public about art as a therapeutic form of rehabilitation for children detained in Harris County juvenile facilities..
