Mardi Gras 2017

Poster design created for Galveston's 2017 Mardi Gras Celebration. The design was made to reflect the celebratory nature of Mardi Gras. Colors chosen were a primarily gold and purple palette with elements drawn in Illustrator. The masked face is laughing to evoke the carefree and festive personality of a harlequin and the feathers and beads were key elements added to reflect the grandeur and costumery of Mardi Gras. The background includes Galveston's famous Moody Gardens, the city skyline and the famous lighted gate that is used every year for the Mardi Gras parade. Confetti was added as a final touch to evoke further feelings of celebration and excitement. Materials: Inket print, satin paper, 18x24, mounted on black foam board Software: Illustrator, InDesign
